Know what the trip costs while you are still changing it.

A travel budget is only useful if it moves with the trip. Outrouted keeps the route and the cost in one place, so adding a city, stretching a stay or taking a different road changes the estimate with it.

A budget that follows the route.

Outrouted estimates accommodation, transport, food and the rest alongside the route, so changing destinations or the length of the trip changes the number. It is recomputed every time you read it, because that arithmetic is local and costs nothing.

Six groups, and a line for each.

The total breaks into hotels, flights, car and fuel, food, things to do, and an allowance for everything else. Each line shows how it was reached, down to three nights at a nightly rate.

An estimate and a quote are not the same thing.

Where a provider can answer a dated question, the price is theirs. Everything else is worked out from the route and labelled as an estimate. Confidence on an offer means exactly what it says it means.

Set a ceiling and hold it.

Give the planner a budget and a route that breaks it comes back marked as over rather than quietly removed, so you can see what it would take to fit. Usually it is one night, in one city.

Per person, or for everybody.

The total is for the party you set, and the per-person figure is derived from it. Children are costed differently for food and beds, because they are.

Budget questions

Does Outrouted show real prices?

Some of them. Where a provider can answer a dated question, like a room for those nights or a flight between two airports on that day, the price is theirs. The rest is estimated from the route and marked as an estimate.

Which currency?

The one for where you are, unless your account says otherwise. Live quotes are asked for in that currency rather than converted after the fact, and where a conversion is unavoidable it uses European Central Bank reference rates.

Is the estimate per person or for the group?

Both figures are on screen. The total covers the party you set; the per-person number is derived from it.

Will the final price match?

No, and no honest planner will promise otherwise. Providers move prices, rooms sell out, and a trip booked in stages is priced in stages. What Outrouted can do is tell you which figures are a provider's and which are ours.
